Very good!!!

This book is excellent - it contains piano music for most of the songs in the musical, and the transcriptions are largely faithful to the very pianistic Broadway score. All of the songs are complete, containing the piano versions of the instrumental solos found in the actual score. It also has guitar chords and lyrics for singers, with a separate line for the singers' notes, complete with harmonies. Unlike many Broadway music books, this one is very thorough and does not disappoint!!! Although that playing some songs in their entirety may be a difficult task for beginning pianists, the result of playing the music from this great musical is well worth the effort, and I'm sure that pianists and singers of all levels will enjoy this book.

This book is very thorough, includes most all of the songs from the show. Chords are provided for less advanced musicians, but the piano score is quite difficult - not for beginners! Intermediates will be able to play about half the songs easily. True to the soundtrack, and all the parts are provided as well as the lyrics and details about which character is singing. Love this book!

This is one of the greatest musical books I have purchesed! The music is great and when you hear yourself play it, it feels like you have always been the one playing it on the CD. Some of the songs have 5 or 6 #'s & b's in them. But it's a challenge to learn them!!!

Terribly earnest in his approach but direct in intent, storyteller and schoolteacher Thomas writes simple, declarative sentences: "Somewhere today . . . someone is being a friend instead of fighting . . . someone is teaching his little sister to ride a bike." Each sentence occupies a full-page spread, with a number of photographs of children illustrating the activity mentioned. The photographs themselves, which range from clear close-ups to artfully blurred or angled shots, show a reassuringly varied cast of children and adults of many races and cultures. For "joining a friend's celebration," children break a pinata; for "learning to do things in a different way," a boy learns to use chopsticks from his Asian friends. A slightly hokey ending, in which children are shown reading this very book "and thinking about making the world a better place," is in tune with the book's gentle didacticism. GraceAnne A. DO NOT BUY THE KINDLE VERSION OF THIS BOOK

This is a great book.
This though, is a rating for the kindle version which is awful.
The book is a historical novel with several locations, battles and strategical army moves in the middle east.
This casts the use of the three maps at the begging of the book ESSENTIAL, (unless of course you are a frank crusader or an Arab Mameluke of the 12th century).

The book has been converted into the kindle version in a sloppy and unprofessional manner. The maps are scanned in low resolution which makes then UNREADABLE both in standard view and zoom.
Buy the paper version, or try an e-book version checking that the maps are readable.
Stay away from this kindle version.

"Content reports" reporting the matter directly from the menus of the kindle device, have not been noted or answered.
Very bad impression from kindle, kindle support, and -this particular- kindle book.

An excellent novel with rip-roaring action and lots of passion and love to boot. Can't wait for the next book in the series. Up there with Bernard Cornwell, Michael Arnold , S.J. Parris and C.J. Sansom. A Gripping Read !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Second his Saladin series, Kingdom is another great read, mixing historical events with very personal stories, providing context to an important part of history. Read the trilogy. You will not regret it.
