Great Tractor Trailer Guide

I liked this book so much I bought an additional copy and gave it to my driving school. It is written in a way that the new driver needs. I especially like the section on backing the trailer. It outlines numerous scenarios that the driver will encounter and talks you through the authors thoughts on how to handle each situation. For me it was money well spent.

Good info but not very in depth

This book had some good ideas and insights, especially in practical advice like trip planning, communications and visualizing trailer manuvering. It did not necessarily follow a well thought out organization of chapters. It was worth what I paid for it but the Bumper to Bumper: The Complete Guide to Tractor-Trailer Operations is a better investment if you are looking for a more complete coverage of Tractor/Trailer operations.

Lilith Starr is the founding Chapter Head of the Satanic Temple's Seattle Chapter. She holds a Harvard B.A. in English and a Stanford M.A. in Journalism. For 18 years, she fought addiction, trying to get sober in 12-step programs without success. Finding Satanism finally allowed her to beat addiction for good and make a full recovery. This is not a Satanism 101 book. This is not a how to of the Dark Arts. What this book is, is a collection of essays of how a Satanic woman has used the philosophies of Satanism to enrich and empower her life. Refreshingly absent is the empty posturing and false chest thumping found in other post LaVey works. One woman applying Satanism to carve out a productive and happy life. A good read.

I found this book to be very uplifting and brutally honest.The author is brutally honest in recalling her struggles along with how Satanism helped her to recover and be the person she is today.I highly recommend it to anyone who is curious about the principles of true Satanism.It is a very interesting read....

I love this book! It has made such a huge difference in my life. The author has experienced many of the things I have experienced. So the book speaks to me on a very personal level. The fact that the author also belongs to TST is an added bonus. I greatly admire TST and the work that they do, fighting for our freedom to live without having religion shoved down our throats.

Lesson learned....never assume

It's not so much the product itself that I have a problem with. It is more the fact that because this was presented as a 9 book set pack from a "collection" it led me to believe I would be receiving the first 9 books of the series or at least 9 books in chronological order, not the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, then the 8th and 9th, then the 12th, then the 17th and 18th, and lastly the 20th. Now I'm stuck trying to buy separately all the ones that fall in between those.

Some involve simple applications of the concepts and can be solved using a calculator, while several are from real-life situations and require writing computer programs or use of library subroutines. Practice on these is expected to build up the reader's confidence in developing large computer codes.

About the Author
Santosh K Gupta is Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. A graduate of the same institute, he obtained his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA, in 1972. His research interests include modelling, optimization and on-line optimal control of polymerization reactors, and modelling and multi-objective optimization (using genetic algorithm) of chemical engineering systems. He has published over 200 papers in these areas, and has also authored/co-authored the textbooks, Fundamentals of Polymer Science and Engineering, Momentum Transfer Operations, Fluid Mechanics and its Applications, Reaction Engineering of Step-Growth Polymerizations, and Mathematical Methods in Chemical and Environmental Engineering. He has been Visiting Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Notre Dame, IN, USA (1985-87), National University of Singapore (1998-99), University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA (1999-2000), and IIT Bombay, Mumbai (2008-2010), where he was the L & T Chair Professor of Chemical Engineering. He has received several awards and honours including being the honoree in two festschrift sessions in the Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Division, AIChE Annual Meeting, Minneapolis, 18 Oct 2011, and the honoree in the festschrift issue of the journals Polym. Eng. Sci. (Volume 51, No. 10, 2011).
